Energy Club NT

BIG YEAR AHEAD

I’m delighted to have been appointed chief executive officer of the Energy Club NT in what is set to be a propitious landscape for the Northern Territory.

Being appointed to this role is an incredible opportunity for me to combine my passion for the growth and sustainability of the Territory’s economy with my business development experience to continue to grow on the success of where the Energy Club NT is today.

The energy sector is an important driver of industrial growth in the NT, and energy supports the economy in an ever-growing capacity.

With the NT region now supporting four LNG trains, exploration activity for onshore gas development and the wider energy industry opportunities growing, the future looks bright for continued industry growth across the Territory.

The Northern Territory is also seeing substantial interest in diversifying the energy mix with solar, hydrogen and innovative alternative energy projects providing new opportunities for investment.

Despite the impacts of Covid-19, Energy Club NT has again enjoyed considerable growth in the past 12 months with a membership base of over 400 and sell-out event attendance, confirming the value of providing a business forum regularly for local and interstate industry representatives.

The Energy Club NT’s board of directors and I work together strategically to ensure we are engaged in opportunities to positively promote the NT industry, support our members and deliver value for our stakeholders.

The coming year will include a focus promoting the NT’s capability to provide services to major projects.

One of the most reputable initiatives by the Energy Club NT to support this is our Meet the Buyer event held annually and aptly timed at the beginning of NT Resources Week.

The initiative has invited hundreds of representatives from buying entities to meet one-on-one with Territory business in a speed-dating format with Territory businesses reporting executed contracts from direct leads within three weeks of the event.

The Energy Club NT are again supporting sponsors of NT Resources Week and look forward to welcoming Industry back to Darwin at the end of October.

Industry support is essential for Energy Club NT to continue to deliver these services to our members and the wider business community.

There are still many great initiatives and ideas to be explored to ensure we remain relevant and provide value to our sponsors and membership.
